Halloween was fun! This was Rose’s first Halloween that she was able to participate in. She caught on very quickly and had so much fun. She learned to say “Trick or Treat” and “Thank you.” She’s been saying her own version of “Thank you” by saying “Welcome!” but on Halloween she actually learned to say it.
It was a cold, windy evening, but we were doing so much walking it felt fine. Lily and Eli ran so fast to each house it was hard to keep up with them. By the end of the night, they could barely carry their candy bags into the house.
We’ve had a lot going on with school, too. There was a learning showcase recently in which Lily got to share about all she’s been learning and working on this semester. She also just finished up the Read-a-thon and a Storybook Parade.
Lily was Miri, the main character of her most recent favorite book, Magic in the Mix. She carried the kitty, Cookie, and the book–which we were lucky enough to have signed by the author herself, Annie Barrows, of Ivy and Bean fame.
Poor Rose has been sick with a bad cold. She had a couple of nights of difficult sleep, but now she’s much better. She says, “I not sick, Mommy! I better.” I’m so glad she’s getting over it. It’s hard having a sick baby. So far I don’t seem to have caught it, either. Yay!
Week before last my cell phone died and getting a new phone turned out to be a nightmare. The new phone doesn’t work at the house. Multiple trips to multiple cell phone stores dealing with unhelpful sales reps = not fun. But it’s over! I’m excited to try a new cell provider called Kitty Wireless. They’re a small business based in Maine, no contract, and they run on Verizon’s network, which I like. Plus, their name is Kitty. I love that.
I’ve also been working hard on writing. I just finished a long post on blogging productivity. It feels really good to have it finished!
While I was working at my computer, Rose decided to do some experimental art with a blue marker. Luckily it was just a washable Crayola marker.
Now I’m trying to get the house into shape and start getting ready for the holidays.
