It feels really good to win. I love winning.
And when I think about my life, it seems like I’m pretty lucky.
I’ve won all sorts of things.
As a teenager, I won a free haircut at a salon.
When I was in the thick of cloth diapering, I won 100 reward points at Abby’s Lane.
Last year I won a year-long subscription to Elegant Themes.
And over the years I’ve found many four-leaf clovers. (I consider this winning!)
My latest win is a coaching package with Erin Cox, author of One Hot Mama: The Guide to Getting Your Mind and Body Back After Baby.
My Secret
What’s my secret, you ask?
It’s simple really, and it has nothing to do with luck.
No one knocked on my door out of the blue and said, “Here, I’d like to give you this free gift!”
In every instance, I had to do something, take some small step.
To win the haircut, I put my name on a card and put it in a jar.
For the Abby’s Lane points, I entered a song-writing contest. My task? To re-write a song with a focus on cloth diapering.
My song was “A Wonderful World.” Here’s an excerpt:
“I see covers of blue… prefolds of white… cute diapered days, and leak-free nights, and I think to myself… what wonderful dipes…”
As you can imagine, I had a lot of fun with it.
I won the subscription to Elegant Themes by entering several giveaways, because I really wanted to win.
And my secret to finding four-leaf clovers?
Get ready for it…
is to look for them! They’re there, if you look. One of my neighbors also happens to be a finder of four-leaf clovers, and he was telling me the odds are like 1 in 4,326 or something like that.
I can’t remember exactly, and honestly, it doesn’t matter.
If you don’t look for them, you’re a lot less likely to find them. And if you do want to find a four-leaf clover, it pays to start looking.
And the looking itself is fun. I highly recommend searching for four-leaf clovers!
As it turns out, I also enjoy entering contests and giveaways. And if I win, great!
When I found out not long ago that I’d won the coaching package with Erin Cox, I was thrilled! I won this one, by the way, by participating in an online giveaway sponsored by Flesche Hesche and Rachel Olsen.
I’ll admit that at the time I entered the giveaway, I had never heard of Erin Cox. But it’s funny, I did learn about her recently through a different avenue.
I Love How Things Come Together
If you’re on my mailing list, you know I’ve been going to coaching school, training to become a Mama Bliss Coach, a life coach for mamas who want to live their most blissful lives.
Coaching school has been an amazing, enriching experience, and I’m excited about supporting heart-centered, mindful mamas as they move from overwhelm to peace and intentionally create their happiest, most in-line-with-their-values lives.
Recently, in our last class of coaching school, we were given access to all of the guest speaker calls from previous school sessions (awesome! win!), and I saw the name Erin Cox.
I thought, I wonder if that’s my Erin Cox? Well, it turns out it was, and after listening to the call recording, I was even more excited to work with her. Yesterday we had our first coaching session, and I’m really thrilled to have her support and insight as I start my coaching practice.
I love how things come together when we put ourselves out there, even through small steps.
Especially through small steps.
When we take small steps towards a goal or intention or desire, the world steps towards us.
Things happen.
Even an act as simple as writing down what you want, your goal or desire or intention, has power.
So write down your dreams.
Enter contests. Join giveaways. Look for four-leaf clovers!
Take small steps towards whatever you desire.
There is joy in the journey, and maybe even a prize or a four-leaf clover waiting for you!
And if you would like to try coaching, it’s your lucky day. :) I am actually looking for some mamas to help me out right now.
Can We Talk?
I’m looking for ten mamas to participate in a 30-minute interview. This is part of my research to help me best serve the mamas I work with. In exchange for your valuable time, you will receive a 30-minute coaching session.
